THE YOUNG LEGACY

April 1, 2010 marked a sad, but proud day for the Young family legacy. Lawrence J Young passed from this world into one where his beloved wife and son anxiously and joyfully awaited him. There were tears of sorrow at the thought of the empty stadium avenue house where so many memories had been made, but a feeling of honor and pride to be a part of the legacy left behind. I know grandpa and grandma watched proudly as their 2 children, 15 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren payed their respects. I know they are proud that all 15 of their grandchildren were married in the temple. I know they are proud that all 7 of their grandsons served honorable missions. I know they are proud that their 41 great-grandchildren stood on the stand in the pleasant view ward looking clean cut, dresses and shirts pressed, singing I love to see the temple in a way that made all those with the Young name who have passed on proud. I am grateful for the example Grandpa and Grandma set for their posterity and hope we can all live in a way that will make our posterity feel equally as proud to carry on the Young name. Grandpa and grandma may be gone, but they will never be forgotten. Each time I see that Young name, I will smile at the thought of grandpa and grandma together again, never to be separated, and the knowledge I have of eternal families. I love you grandma and grandpa. Grandpa, don't forget to pass our hugs and kisses and love onto Dad. We miss you and love you all.
